In 2006 the Arizona Cardinals relocated to their brand new 448 million dollar facility in the city of Glendale, Arizona. Surrounding the new Arizona Cardinal stadium is the project of Westgate, the "crown jewel" of new sports venue complexes. Westgate features a futuristic, timeless design complete with offices, retail, dining, residential living, hotels, water features, event plazas and more.

Much to the fans delight, Arizona Cardinal owner Bill Bidwell has taken great strides to improve the quality of the team. With the recent additions of coach Ken Whisenhunt and players Matt Leinart, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Edgerrin James, the Cardinals are going to be a formidable team for years to come.

Tickets for Cardinal games are readily available and are quite reasonable. Terrance endzone seats start at $15.00 while a desirable club sideline seat can run up to $350.00 . If you are planning a larger gathering the University of Phoenix Stadium also has 88 individual suites which include catering and a staffed mini bar. In 1993, Jerry Colangelo who was majority owner for the Phoenxi Suns at the time, announced he was putting together an owners group to apply for a Major League Baseball team. In 1995, Colangelo and the city were awarded a new franchise to begin play in 1998.

In 1998 the Arizona Diamondbacks played their first game at their newly constructed stadium Bank One Ballpark (now Chase Field). Tickets had gone on sale January 10th and were sold out before lunch. In front of 50,000 + fans, the Diamondbacks went on to lose to the Colorado Rockies 9-2, but not before Travis Lee recorded the Diamondbacks first hit, rbi and home run.

In the Arizona Diamondbacks first five years of existence were amazingly able to put together 3 divisional championships and 1 world series.

If your looking to take in a game, you can catch the Diamondbacks at Chase Field, located in downtown Phoenix adjacent to US Airways Arena (home to the Phoenix Suns). Chase Field is truly an amazing place to watch a game. From the retractable roof, to the signature pool, Chase Field is one of the premiere venus in Major League Baseball today.

Tickets are always available for Diamondback games at reasonable prices. The Diamondbacks also have a unique program where you can purchase tickets form season ticket holders who won't be attending the game. If your planning a party or special occasion be sure to look into renting out the signature pool in the outfield.

Phoenix Coyotes

phoenix hockey

The Phoenix Coyotes began life as the Winnepeg Jets, one of the founding teams in the World Hockey Association. In 1979 the Jets were one of the four teams admitted when the WHL merged with the NHL. In 1996 the team was sold to  Steve Gluckstem and Richard Burke who packed up their bags and moved the team to Arizona, and became the Phoenix Coyotes.

In 2001 Phoenix developer Steve Ellman bought the team and made Wayne Gretzky part owner and head of hockey operations. At the time, the Coyotes played at America West Arena (now US Airways Arena), but the venu wasn't conducive to hockey, so Ellman moved the Coyotes out to Glendale in 2003 to play at the brand new Jobbing.com arena.

The Jobbing.com arena was built specifically for hockey, and is truly sensational. There isn't a bad seat in the whole building. The arena is located smack dab in the middle of the new Westgate project, next to the new Phoenix Cardinals stadium. Normal seating is great, but if you have an option try to get some tickets in the Lexus Club section. This section is located on the north side of the stadium on the second level. Included with tickets are an excellent buffet and a couple of cocktails or beverages.

The Coyotes have have a great selection of ticket options and packages. Season tickets start at approximately $330.00 per seat for upper level ends high, to over $9,000.00 for rinkside row a seats. Some benefits to season ticket holders are a meet the team event, season ticket holder entrance, invitation to coyotes ugrade open house, complimentary parking, dedicated customer service representative and much more.

The Phoenix Mercury began life in 1997 as one of the WNBA's original teams. With future hall of famer Michele Timms from Australia and well known Cheryl Miller as coach, the Mercury went 16-12 in their inagural season and reached the playoffs.

In 2007 the Phoenix Mercury captured it's first championship, winning a thrilling 5 game series over the defending 2006 champions Detroit Shock. With Cappie Poindexter and Diana Taurasi leading the way, the Phoenix Mercury will be very competitive in the years to come.

The Phoenix Mercury games are held at the US Airways Center (also home to the Phoenix Suns). The venu seats about 18,000 and provides a great atmosphere for attendees. Ticket prices are very reasonable, and season ticket holders receive a lot of perks that you won't find with other professional sport teams in the valley.

Phoenix Suns

With a 2 million dollar expansion fee, Phoenix got their first professional sports team in 1968. Although critics were skeptical that Phoenix could support a franchise, 28 year-old Jerry Colangelo had a vision and desire to build a successful basketball operation. In only their second year, the Phoenix Suns made the playoffs with the likes of Paul Silas and Connie Hawkins.

Today the Phoenix Suns consistently make the playoffs and are always competing for a chance to play in the NBA championship series. Jerry Colangelo still has an active roll on the team and has managed to acquire NBA all-stars such as Steve Nash, Amare Stoudamire, and Shawn Marion.

The Suns play their games at US Airways Arena, situated in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Located adjacent to Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the facility seats approximately 18,000 and provides a comftorable venue for spectators to take in a game.

Recently it was announced that season tickets are sold out for the 2007-2008 season - the first time since 1997-1998.  However, many great options are still available. Tickets start at just $10.00 making a Suns game affordable for any budget.

Arizona Rattlers

arizona football picture

The Arizona Rattlers were formed in 1991 when Jerry Colangelo received formal approval of his application from the Arena Football League board of directors. In 1992 the Arizona Rattlers officially began play with former Dallas Cowboy great Danny White as head coach. The team would lose the game to the Albany Firebirds 62-35, but the season would be a success. The City of Phoenix immediately embraced the club and the Rattlers home games were sold out that season (1st time in AFL history).

The Rattlers won the arena bowl in 1994 and 1997. Unfortunately, they are also known as the only AFL team to lose 3 consecutive arena bowls in 2002-2004. Despite the tough losses the Rattlers continue to be a quality organization with a drive to win.

Arizona Rattler games are a blast, and with season tickets starting at just $45.00, there's no reason to not take in a few games this year.
